The Diversity Visa program, as the name suggests, promotes and encourages legal immigration from foreign countries biased on the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) 1990.
The DV program designed and amended by the US congress to diversify the population currently residing in the States, allowing eligible persons to apply for a GC for multiple purposes:to live, work, study, travel and invest in the United States unrestrictedly.
The DV program runs annually and administrated by the Department of State.
Each year, the Department of State selects 125,000 petitioners for the Green Card (GC), out of which the first 50,000 candidates who meet and complete the requirements on time are those to obtain the physical card to their hands, leaving over 75,000 petitioners are disqualified.
To be eligible for the program, the applicants must meet all criteria and instructions while complying to a strict timeframe.
